Read it again. Van Horn said one charge that could result. One. That doesn't exclude other charges, including federal. The FBI were brought in and are presumably still involved. Why was the FBI brought in? What federal charges might apply? Lying to the FBI? They got Martha Steward for lying to the cops. Why not Kerri Dunn?

Initially, the FBI was brought in because the crime had implications for federal hate crimes. Wish I knew all the answers to your questions. I only know she fibbed to the local police. I don't know what went on between her and the FBI, although my guess is that they interviewed her and possibly got a written statement too. If so, then she definitely obstructed a federal investigation and should be charged with that. We'll probably know within the next few weeks.
