My rule-of-thumb is this: God does not mistakes, humans do.
So if there is a conflict between Scripture and science either I have superimposed my understanding on what the Scripture actually says - or I haven't fully researched the scientific theory.

Both of you are human, thus you can readily admit that you may be making mistakes on the truth about god. -- Am I correct?

God may be perfect, but I claim no such thing.

Where my understanding of God's nature is contradicted by objective reality, my understanding must necessarily be imperfect. The only other option is that objective reality is itself somehow "wrong", which hardly makes sense, and is a tremendously arrogant judgement to boot - the universe is not circumscribed by the limits of my imagination.

IMO, science and faith, when both are done properly, are complementary, and not at odds with each other.
If you (generally speaking - not to you in particular) find that objective reality and faith are at odds with one another, you aren't trying hard enough.

Thanks general.. I see then that you also disagree, seeing that "objective reality and faith are at odds", - frequently, -- despite how hard we try to ignore truth.

I think there are all to many people who *want* faith and reason to be in opposition to one another, for some reason. And they exist on both "sides".
