[history]
Photos by ERIKA ALEXANDER/The Jackson Sun - Dwayne Johnson, the former pro wrestler The Rock, signs an autograph for a fan Tuesday while being escorted by local police officers to the McNairy County Courthouse.
SELMER - From a black, tinted-windowed SUV, he emerged, his leather jacket off, a green T-shirt showing off his muscles and his handlers tugging on his right biceps as they tried to rush him back onto his private jet.

"I had an absolute blast," he said in an exclusive interview. Everytime I hear about this guy, he just seems to have so much fun and enjoys what he is doing. Unlike some of the other wrestlers (Brock)

If the "Walking Tall" movies have taught us anything it's that many problems can be resolved by the correct application of an ax-handle.

A bump for my buddy Dwayne Johnson (ok, so I've talked to him a couple of times at the local gym....). He is pretty conservative, as are most hollywood tough guys. Bad a$$ former Miami Hurricane, from the "bad old days" of the Canes.

If the "Walking Tall" movies have taught us anything it's that many problems can be resolved by the correct application of an ax-handle. In the original movie it was a Hickory stick about 4 feet long and 3 inches across.
In the posters I've seen in the DC Metro it's a 2 by 4. LOL

1962 elected constable.
1964 elected Sheriff of McNairy County.
Shot eight times.
Knifed seven times.
Fought off six men at once, sending three to jail and three to the hospital.
Destroyed 87 whiskey stills in 1965 alone.
Killed two people in self-defense.
Hopped on the hood of a speeding car, smashed the window and subdued the man who had tried to run over him.
Incredible.

In the original movie it was a Hickory stick about 4 feet long and 3 inches acrossI stand corrected. Let me revise my previous statement:
If the "Walking Tall" movies have taught us anything it's that many problems can be resolved by the correct application of lumber.

I met Buford Pusser in 1973, when I was 12. Nixon was coming to my central Illinois town to dedicate something and my cousin's dad, a local bar owner, was hosting a party for the Secret Service advance team. Pusser was hanging out with the SS guys. He died not too long after that.

The former Sherrif Hege in Davidson County, NC idolizes Buford Pusser, takes vacations to Pusser's homestead and has befriended Pusser's widow.
Unfortunately, none of Pusser's good qualities rubbed off on Hege.
