If southern blacks, free and slave, fought so valiantly for the south, and if their service was so valued by the confederates, then why did the south repay that service with Black Codes and Jim Crow laws for 100 years following the rebellion?That was all the Yankees that moved in - every knows Confederates were barred from holding office.
