Haiti (Reuters) - Haiti's new prime minister picked a Cabinet on Tuesday that excludes allies of ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, a source close to the new government said.

"The government has been selected this afternoon," an aide to Prime Minister Gerard Latortue told Reuters. He gave no further information.

Sources close to the new prime minister said not one of the 13 ministries was handed to members of Aristide's Lavalas Family party, a move likely to fire up anger among his supporters and prolong tensions in the revolt-torn country.

I admit to not being very familiar with Haiti, but from what I've read, it's hard to imagine any form of government succeeding there.

That having been said, it might make an interesting laboratory for some radical changes, a la the former Soviet-bloc countries. Flat tax, land reform, etc.

Gotta get rid of the voodoo crap too.
