The kids should go to jail for life. I hope they get their butts kicked in prison too. Teach em a lesson.

There is no excuse for killing a child, much less a learning-disabled child. The kid was probably picked on his whole life, and then his life ends like this. It's just tragic.

I don't know what the minimum age for the death penalty is in Washington, but if these kids are eligible, they should certainly consider it.

Never mind, upon reading the article, I saw that the maximum penalty was 25 years for kids these age.

That's too bad. I still say they should have at least been eligible for life sentences.

Have to agree with you there. This is beyond terrible.

This is a very sad case...for everyone involved. It happened about 40 miles from where I live. My heart aches for all the families involved.

isn't thirTEEN considered a TEENager?

What stupid ignorant public school graudate wrote this piece of garbage writing?

It would rate as an "F" in junior high English class.

13 = PRE-teen?

Let's see here - Thir-TEEN.

Nope - that's a Teenager.

And the crime committed was an ADULT crime. The fact that the maximum penalty is 25 years makes me sick.

The murder was committed when the kids were 12. Thus preteen.

"1st degree murder is only 25 yrs in Washington?"

My cousin was murdered in Washington State. His killer got 20 years, eligible for parole after 13. The murder was in 1984. Technically the killer might have been released in 1997, though he tried to escape once and will probably do "all 20" years. Out this year sometime. My cousin can never come back, but a liberal Seattle (King County) court sentenced him to 20 years. One of the reasons I'm glad I don't live there anymore.
