What an idiot that lady is. He stops to let her in, and she flips him off? Disgusting.

"Or a lawyer will get her cleared of almost all charges, due to a technicality."
Those so called "technicalities" (procedural rules) are what keep us from descending into tyranny. Don't knock 'em.

"Lighten up, Francis."
Huh?

Sounds like Dave finally got what he deserved, after a lifetime of bullying others.

Your story reminds me being out driving a few weeks ago. I passed a guy who was driving in the right lane on a fourlane expressway and for some reason, he took offense. He tailgated me all the way to and onto the interstate, where he promptly blew past me doing at least 70+ and accelerating rapidly.
It wasn't 20 seconds after the guy blew past me that I saw a cop pull out from behind some barrels and pull the guy over as it was a 55mph workzone. I blew my horn and waved to the guy as I rolled by.

Where am I knocking them? I was just stating what I thought would happen. I have no pity on cops that do not follow procedures, but I also do not like some of the BS/Grey area technicalities that occasionally are used.

There is a freeper here who has an LEO relative whose motto is "You might beat the rap, but you can't beat the ride".
Sounds exactly like what the trooper did in your story.

"One of her sisters was once married to the 'Man with no face' that was showing up on all the talk shows a few years ago." If I am thinking of the same guy, was this the one with the rare disease that made his head look like a cave-in sort of thing?
Was she married to him before, during, and/or after that affliction?
My Wive's sister was his first wife, married out of high school. He was 'fine' then, aside from getting drunk/stoned and beating the crap out of his her. She finally got away from him.
Scuttlebut was that he had settled down some, but still had drug problems. Consensus was that perpetual drug abuse had something to do with the fungus he caught in his nasal passages and sinuses. The fungus ate his face literally, leaving him blind with no face.
Currently, he is borderline insane, and always lashing out at those around him. His current wife/family is trying to get him institutionalized. He was featured on an episode of South Park a year or two ago. He wanted to sue South Park. We that knew him, thought they went pretty light on him.

Right. Like I said, don't knock 'em.

You might be right about the trooper. On the other hand, during the trip he probably wrote several tickets just to annoy the guy and take a bit more time.
He would also pull over a station wagon for speeding before a sports car. He figured you might have a kid in the station wagon, but in a sports car it is a young single kid with nothing to live for anyway.
I liked him as a trooper, but my little brother swore he worked at the truck stop drinking coffee...
