GLOBE REPORTER CLAIMS TAPE RECORDED KERRY 'MORE' LEADERS NOT 'FOREIGN' LEADERS; TRANSCRIPTION 'SCREW-UP'
A BOSTON GLOBE reporter at the center of a growing controversy over comments made by John Kerry last week in Florida now claims he "screwed-up" -- and John Kerry never bragged how "foreign leaders" privately backed his presidential bid!
"I mistranscribed a key word," explains Patrick Healy, a political reporter for the BOSTON GLOBE who covered the event in a pool capacity.
"Listening to the audio recorder now, in the quiet of my house, I hear 'more leaders' and I am certain that 'more leaders' is what Senator Kerry said."

another boston globe reporter bites the dust. will they ever learn. this guys is trying to cover up for kerry and will lose his job because what he's doing is so obvious.
To: SB00
If that is true, then why is he still insisting he had the conversations?...he is lying....and he is caught lying for the world to see.
To: SB00
When all else fails claim you were misquoted or pay someone to do it for you.

LOL - I thought I heard Rush play sound bites where Kerry used the word foreign.

Oops, coordination error! I guess Healy has been too busy to notice John Kerry already affirmed the quote by discussing it.
To: SB00
Let's all listen to the tape, and we can then put this puppy to bed. My opinion is that he is covering for F-ing.
To: SB00
Well lets hear the tape.

The reporter should have told JK about this before JK ran his mouth and further clarified the lie.

This doesn't hold water considering the question asked.
MILTON FERRELL: "This is more than just the 50 states. You travel around outside the states, the people are still [inaudible] Europeans and elsewhere, they're counting on the American people. They hate Bush, but they know we're going to get rid of him. They're counting on us. [inaudible] It's a lot more than just [inaudible]-"

I agree. You've heard of a CYA - this is a CKA. The K meaning Ketchupman of course.

Exactly... if true, how did he miss the quoted statement that's been *everywhere* for quite a while now? Only suddenly, when called on it, has he been "misquoted"?
"...it means exactly what I choose it to mean - no more or less."

To: SB00
Yeah, sure--"More leaders." Like, maybe Nancy Pelosi. Contextually, "foreign leaders" is what makes sense. If Kerry didn't say it, he would have denied it immediately. He never expected to be called on it.
To: SB00
If he didn't mean "foreign" leaders by "more" leaders, then what did he mean? If he didn't mean foreign leaders, then why has he not answered the charge laid by a number of people that he didn't speak the truth and that he should reveal his sources? If he chose to instead lean heavily on a reporter to do his dirty work for him and he has that much influence over a reporter and his paper, then that needs to be investigated and becomes an even larger story than the original one.

Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure!
If the reporter mistranscribed a word, then he obviously isn't qualified to do his job. He should be fired.

Newsflash to reporter. John Fakin' Kerry already acknowledged the "foreign" part. Try another whopper. Maybe like that he saw a foreign newscast, like from Iran or North Korea, about how much they hate Bush. We'll wait for your next "transcription".
Bump.
To: SB00
Well if Kerry didn't say Foreign leaders than why didn't he say so in the first place. All this time everyone has been asking him to name the foreign leaders and he has been acting like he said it??? He is definately lying about something.
