This is so bogus. The media just cannot accept that JFK, Jr., wasn't a politician---they had it all planned how he would "restore Camelot." It's like the 2000 election---they just can't get over JFK, Jr. I have several of the quotes in my new book. It's sick.

If Clinton wanted to run, Kennedy would not fight her.
"He was too much of a gentleman," said Leamer.

OR, he was afraid to cross her.

Still didn't save his life though.

The Clintoons play rough.

Breaking news on what someone might have possibly could have thought maybe if only he hadn't pointed the nose of his plane into the ocean?

He should have squished her, as much as I despise the kennedy's it isn't close to the fervent hate of the evil one. He would had been 100% better then the wicked bit** and it would have detoured her ambitions.

"He was too much of a gentleman," said Leamer.

I doubt if being a gentleman had anything to do with it. More likely, he wanted to be Senator if he could be annointed for the job, but wasn't interested if he had to fight for it.

That's not unusual, btw. There are plenty of potential candidates, including many who would be superb Members of Congress, who never take the plunge because they are unwilling to subject themselves to the drudgery and risks of campaigning. Unfortunately, most recent "reforms" make this problem even worse.

A mad democrat.....

Hardly a novel item. They go thru their entire lives that way. Some longer than others.

The media always wanted JFK, Jr. in political life more than JFK, Jr did. (They even tried to goad Caroline into running for public office once John-John was dead.)

I respected the fact that he knew his limitations. (At least as a politician, if not a pilot.)

I doubt his wife would have been able to take being a Political wife. From many accounts she was very unstable.

I'm not a Kennedy Family fan, but I never had anything against JFK Jr. or his sister.

Nope, it doesn't explain anything. The NTSB accident report clearly shows that it was JFK Jr's own lack of piloting skills that killed him and the others on board. Spatial disorientation which lead to a classic "death spiral". In a nutshell, he was a rich boy with an expensive toy he knew little about operating in MVFR conditions and it killed him. End of story.

it would have detoured her ambitions.

Ha! There were 32 other states electing a senator that year. If she thought she had to fight for the New York seat and had a chance of losing it, she would have picked another one to attach herself to.

A movie starring Kirstie Allie (sp?) and originally titled Drop Dead, Gorgeous began airing the day Kennedy's plane went down. I believe they changed the name to something else though. I think, though my memory may be faulty, that there was a negative to Scientology story running or about to run in George.

Purely coincidental, I'm sure. But it did raise my eyebrows.

I do believe there is a hidden polarization in the Democratic Party: Kennedy Clan vs. Clinton Gang.

The on-going power struggle gets interesting with Teddy's boy, Kerry running for president.

I don't think the Clinton operatives will allow Kerry to be elected. If it ever starts looking like he could win, watch for all kinds of revelations to come out of nowhere and spoil his chances.

Clinton operatives are probably sitting on enough dirt on Kerry to make a plantation.

Before and after young John F. Kennedy, Jr.'s death, his magazine, George, was a topic of speculation as to whether or not it would survive. A general impression was that JFK, Jr. was attempting to establish a legitimate business venture with the magazine, above the "business" heritage and other antics of the older Kennedy tribe.

Then Hillary wished to be Senatrix from the State of New York, and JFK, Jr.'s ally and chief venture capitalist in the magazine, David Pecker, was "helped" away from his top executive position at Hachette-Filipacchi (Wi-Sp '99), that was the source of operating capital for the magazine; "helped" by two people beholden to the Clintons:

Austin Beutner, President and CEO of the Fund for Large Enterprises in Russia ("FLER", an agency of the U.S. Government under the Clinton Administration) --- and a co-founder / partner of Evercore Partners, and

Roger C. Altman, a former-U.S. Deputy Secretary Treasurer in the Clinton Administration --- and a co-founder / partner of Evercore Partners.

With the loss of David Pecker's support, JFK, Jr. was left scrambling to save his business reputation, his dream, in the wake of the Clintons' larger ambitions related to why New York became their new home --- it is the seat of their developing wealth, within a structure that is a web "worthy" of Hillary's "achievements" at the Rose Law Firm: Evercore Partners, where Al Gore's aid, William Daley went to, after the Florida fiasco in the year 2000 elections.

David Pecker became the head of Evercore's American Media, Inc. that owns various "pulp / rags" such as the National Enquirer and the Star. Not exactly a move up, in terms of his career, but with "the rug pulled out from under" JFK, Jr., a definite move up for Hillary.
