LOL Sounds like fun! I miss having plants to take care of. I'm on a rocky HARD plot on a floodplane with a creek in the back. It's beautiful, but not really good ground for plants. LOL

Can you make some raised beds . . . or plant in half whiskey barrels? . . . . .I understand about the rocks, everytime I dig a hole for a rose I get a bucketful of the nasty things. I take them out to the street and put them in the pot holes . . . .along comes the UPS truck and "Voila" . . . a new road bed. . . .Hey!, don't laugh, it works.
