March 16, 2004 -- OCT. 30 has just become a day to dread.

On Sunday in Spain, al Qaeda learned that by striking hard four days before a national tally, it could change the results.

Our election will take place on Nov. 2. Count four days back from our election and you get Oct. 30.

Osama bin Laden probably hasn't even heard of the Spanish train bombing, and if he has, he probably doesn't care.

Right now his biggest concern is which hole he can crawl into for a couple hours of sleep.

When people die (and they will) because of what happened in Spain, Americans won't act like the Spanish by blaming the Spanish. We'll place the blame where it belongs, which is with the Islamists, who are the self-proclaimed lovers of death.

Of course. But when more people die, they will still blame us.

"Osama bin Laden probably hasn't even heard of the Spanish train bombing, and if he has, he probably doesn't care".

Whether or not OBL has heard the news is probably not important. It is important that like minded people have.

I'm not so sure that a last-minute terror attack just prior to the Presidential election would sweep the socialists into power in America the way the terror attack (apparently) did in Spain. In Spain, the socialists won with only ~42% of the vote, about the same as what the socialists got here in the US in 1992 when Clinton won. They have more than two parties in Spain, so while it may look like Spain is a bunch of cowards who raised the white flag and surrendered to the terrorists, it was only 42% of them.

So as much as the Democrats are silently begging for a major, deadly terrorist attack prior to the election, I don't believe it would help them. In fact, chances are that such an attack would only serve to strengthen America's resolve to continue to KILL terrorists (like Bush is doing) rather than send prosecutors after them to bring them into court (like Kerry said he wants to do).

So the Democrats may as well stick to their old trusty playbook and keep hoping for an economic depression where people lose their jobs, their homes, and their savings. That's their ticket to POWER.

Osama has been buried under the rubble of Tora Bora since December 2001.
He's not hearing much of anything these days.

You mean 70 virgins aren't whispering sensual tales in his ears?

We'd better stop it indeed so there isn't a pro-Kerry backlash in this country four days before our November election.

I hate to say it, but Oct. 30 is 3 days away from Nov. 2, the same as 4 is 3 away from 1. Everybody today seems math challenged.

And we'll give them all the "love" that they have earned.
