I believe quite a few states have gone digital with licensing drivers. When I first got my license back in the 80s the camera was one of those Polaroid 'Instamatics'. When I renewed a few years ago here in Oregon, they shot my pic with what looked like a fancy (read ---> EXPENSIVE) webcam and my license popped out of a nifty printer/laminator, complete with a nifty barcode and mag-stripe. I am sure all of the bits including my mug are sitting on a hard drive somewhere waiting for the authorities to pull it up on a terminal when needed.
