You were doing 71 in a 55? No wonder you got a ticket. LOL

Actually, the Columbus Police are usually very lenient on speed. But where I was nabbed was a stretch of Freeway where a couple of fatal accidents had occurred a few weeks earlier. I was shocked. Average speed here is 75-85.

The traffic in Michigan goes at 90 miles an hour and everyone hits the brake when they get to the Ohio line.
Everyone with out of state plates that is...LOL.

There is a charles mccoy in the columbus police department. The name is relatively common in Ohio.
"We just want them (travelers) to kind of look around and keep their eyes open," said Charles McCoy of the Columbus Police Department. "I drive it twice a day, but I would just recommend people to be more alert." Ref

I wonder if the ticketing is more on the interstates in Ohio. I drive in Ohio all the time as I cross the river to do a lot of my shopping etc. and no one in my family has ever gotten a ticket there. Knock on wood.

I think it might be the Columbus area. On the interstates in Cleveland there are certain spots you have to watch (I-71 in Linndale, I-480 near I-77 especially on the curves going west, and I-71 in Strongsville) but usually its all clear.

Perhaps. All the tickets I've received (except for one) have been on the Interstates.

If it were one and the same that would be too much! How coincidental!

I try to avoid interstates as much as possible. I take the back roads if I can get where I'm going that way. I'd rather take my chances on a kindly rural resident helping me out if I have trouble than the unknowns that travel interstates.

I sure so as soon as I cross the state line on US 23. I don't need to fund the rats salaries in Toledo, Cleveland, or Youngstown, let alone the rats in my own state.

Hopefully the media will ask, and put that question to rest. It is interesting to note the sidebar on the photo.

The sidebar? Which photo are you looking at? I don't see a sidebar on the pic I have.

This Charles McCoy is from Grove City. "Sniper suspect identified" "The task force investigating the I-270 freeway shootings has identified a 26-year-old Grove City man as a suspect in the shooting spree that began May 10.

Columbus has a Police Chief who makes PC Moose, Ph.D. actually look like a Ph.D. However, this being sensible Ohio, they have enough common sense not to let him wander around loose or say anything. At one point, there was even talk of letting him carry a gun.

I hope they never fire him because the Maine liberals will hire him for Portland in a heartbeat

Wadda maroon!

Grove City. Well, that's where they thought it all started in the first place. Thanks for the info!

In Ohio, one only is allowed to speed during rush hour. And I mean speed. 70 East to Wheeling you'll find convoys holding 90 or better. If you ain't got the rig, stay in the granny lane.

If you are out there all alone, mind the limit, or you will be making some Buckeye Burg very rich.

If he is the cop, it would be strange that his targets were not hit(the people) more often.. they need to qualify to stay on the force I thought... & qualifying used to mean not just 'sorta close'.

I don't think this one is the cop. The news tonight was a little more thorough and I can't imagine that they would have ignored it if this guy was a cop. None of the neighbors of his (they were interviewed) said anything about him being a cop. Somebody said they weren't even sure if he had a job.
