Your comments are all well-taken, but may I suggest (to others, not to you) that the time to gripe about Bush is over; we know who the alternative to Bush is, and if we're not all united in tearing into Kerry, we're being counter-productive.

I used to think exactly like you, but then I realized that unless you are dealing with an ideologue, which by all accounts Bush is not, one must make their vote count.

I submit this for you to consider, we as conservatives will get alot more out of Bush if we continue to gripe about immigration, spending, etc than we will "selling out" in March. I think the time to unite behind Bush is either after the convention, or the day after he comes out with a clearly conservative platform.

There's nothing wrong with having Dubya sweat out some poll numbers for a few months, in fact we wouldn't want it any other way.

not a gripe...
he needs to turn around, before his base turns around on him.

it's called repentance...
and a little bit of it, strategically placed, will go a long way with conservatives.

as far as ho chi kerry is concerned...
we can do all in our power to "tear into him." but if the base stays home, more than it did in the last election, we could be in for some trouble.

and I expect kerry will call secretly on his al quaida buddies to do us just like they did aznar in madrid... in the upcoming months.

Bush needs to take some bold, red-meat action on real conservative issues, like his open border policy, instead of "nipplegate" fcc expansion, to arouse the base of small government conservatives.

Bush the President... needs to OBEY his base... if he wants to be reelected, not enrage it further by maintaining the policies towards illegals and invaders... amongst other things.

you and I saying "bush can do no wrong and kerry is satan so vote for bush" won't get it. It's not honest,a key conservative principle in communications. Bush needs to DO something conservative. Veto some bills, move on the conservative side of invasion issues in an overt way, cut back some social programs in a very public demonstration, or whatever he can think of...

I pray he will... but NOW is the time to hold this "conservative" adminstration's feet to the fire.

In fact, election time is the ONLY time we can do it effectively.
