"This Just In" Starts Sunday (New conservative cartoon show)
Spike TV ^

Posted on 03/14/2004 2:28:44 PM PST by GulliverSwift

A new TV show about a conservative columnist will be repeating today (3/14/04). Its first episode (about Ted Kennedy) ran on Friday but I missed it and so did a lot of freepers. If it's any good, expect it to come under fire from the Hollyweird leftists. If we're lucky, maybe we'll get something as good as "South Park."

Maybe some just see the topics presented and turn it off before they get the joke?

"..such as when they ridicule the Catholic church for not kicking out homosexual molesters."

Oh gosh, I remember that episode. I was screaming, Yes, Yes, they're right, they're right! Through the entire thing, hubby thought I had lost my mind. I told him, look how far the Church has fallen, that I'm agreeing with this. He's a presbyterian, he was confused.

Many people don't understand that you can be foul-mouthed and crude and still be a conservative with a liberty streak. South Park is fundamentally a conservative show and is hated by a number of liberals I know.

The only time I've ever seen "South Park" bust up on thr Right is when they go after those on this side who, like liberals, wish to FORCE others to accept their version of morality.

Unfortunately, there are ample targets. Fortunately, NO ONE compares to the Left for offering "targets of opportunity".

Hence the term, "South Park Republican". It's come to represent those who are Right in most of their thinking, but who nonetheless enjoy having some "naughty" fun.

For example, a "South park Republican" would presumably have no objection to legalized gambling, nor any particular trouble with "nudie" bars.

With regard to the Republican party, the SPR just puts some more emphasis on the "party". IMHO, that's good. There's nothing that says one can't enjoy one's own life, after all.

Yeah, Reiner was big and fat, stuffing himself, and he and his buddy tried to kill the kid to prove that second-hand smoke gives you cancer.

"South Park is fundamentally a conservative show and is hated by a number of liberals I know."

Which is why this whole "idecency" crusade of late worries me. Have no doubt that such Right-leaning shows like "south Park" will, in the neverending game of tit-for-tat, face government-sponsored attacks from the Left if we persist in this course.

LOL! I loved that episode. If that wasn't anti-liberal, then I need to have the concept re-explained to me!

That would suck. But I don't think the GOP would ever consent to giving the FCC control of cable.

Then why do the creators of this show have a role in Michael Moore's movie? Seriously.

Probably not. However, at any time the Left could once again regain control of the government. As we've seen, they are sadly far more confrontational and plain mean than the Republicans in the congress.

Our own weapons can easily be used by our enemies.

Doesn't show up in the Arizona schedule. ??

I don't know. I didn't see his crapola. Perhaps someone else who has can answer that. If I were to guess based on what I've heard, he was trying to partially blame them and other media for the Columbine murders.

South Park is simply anti-establishment. Anyone who has an investment in the establishment, left or right, will be offended at some point.

I'd argue that they're more anti-hypocrisy. The left is more dominated with hypocrites than the right, thus the perception that South Park is right-wing.

Are you on cable? Your company might not carry Spike TV. If you're on DirectTV or Dish, it will be on there. Both of them have Spike TV.
