Boo hoo. Moving on...
This week's events in Spain have shown that the resolve of Europeans in general (and this certainly doesn't include many of the Europeans that have been posting here) is weak and they are ready to be pushed around. As you said, Greece might be next, maybe because there is a risk that the new conservative PM might be friendly to us. I hope they have more balls than Spain is something unfortunate were to occur.
That's a tough call. ON one hand I absolutely agree. I'd be happy for our athletes to stay home and not face the anit-americanism that is in Greece most of the time. NOt to mention the incredible potential for terrorism.
On the other hand, if we don't go that gives the impression we're living in fear and the terrorists have won. Kind of like we were all encouraged to get back on airplanes after 9/11 and live as normally as possible. The 'best' solution might be for the IOC to cancel the Olympics but I doubt that'll happen.
