Agree. Not sure what is his point.

Many of the founders left the old world because of religious persecution. They created a separation of church and State and this was wise. When we start having State sponsored religion, invariably the State will try to legislate it.

Yep. It's bad biz to mix religion and politics as far as government framing is concerned.
