Muslims have their own new year which is a lunar year. But Persians have their own special new year which is solar.
Do you know about differences between Arabs(Muslims) and Persians and Iranians???

I just guessed that with the Muslim fundamentalist takeover they would use the Hegra calendar because that's when Hadj and Ramadam ( the two holiest seasons in Islam ) are calculated. I know the people aren't the same. You learn something new every day.
The Persian New Year holiday called NoRuz ( NoRooz, NowRuz ) is on 20 March. I thought all of the guys I worked who lived in Iran for a few years would have mentioned it.
