BS. This whole article is crap. The prison guards' union bought the biggest pay raise in the history of man for a few hundred grand in contributions to Gray-out. Now she's defending that fraudulent contract, for which Davis should really go to jail.

As I told you previously this trend of promoting from within, utilizing personnel without formal management training, is not going to solve the DoC's financial problems.

This former CO has been placed in this position in an attempt to placate the unions while their power is incrementally diminished.

The best solution, but not the cheapest in the short term, is to bring in a qualified manager, confront the unions and the inmates, suppress the riots utilizing the CNG, fight the inmate centered litigation, and end the growing nightmare of union management.

Will Schwarzenegger have the courage and the wisdom to face the nightly scenes of horror on TV, ala Viet Nam, and the daily reports of new litigation and get on with fixing the problems? I doubt it.

Reagan did it with the Air Traffic Controllers Union and survived with high marks. Unfortunately Schwarzenegger isn't driven by core principals and the current system will stumble along just managing to stay off the front page.
