BFD. If some you had your way, then no American company would have any locations, employees or business outside the USA. Did you ever stop to think these companies are producing products in foreign companies for foreign markets?

I worked for Heinz briefly after graduation from Duke University Fuqua School of Busioness (MBA). Subsequently, I traveled internationally as a Merchant Banker. I would give most anything I had to re-enter any business with an international flavor.

In fact, I am currently looking at several companies to acquire/invest in that source their products overseas. I make no apologies for the fact that certain prodcuts simply cannot be made in the US for a price that Wally-world customers want to pay.

The myopic narrow-minded nimwits simply amaze me.

Go ahead, flame away. Remember, I will not and do not make no apologies for my views. I am a business person that puts my own money on the line. I'm not in life to be a charity.

Of course most of these factories make products to sell in the native countries.

However, the Heinz Company has several factories in countries that use slave laborers and children laborers for pennies a day while adding millions of $$$ to the Heinz Co profits.

The point is NOT that Heinz produces overseas, it IS the fact that Kerry COMPLAINS about OTHERS, who do THE SAME as Heinz and he calls THEM Benedict Arnolds.

You wrote what I was going to write...

Heinz is a multi-national corporation that has had foreign outposts since its virtual inception... It has nothing to do with outsourcing...

You bet I'll flame away. Excuse me, but some people are morons. I'm personally 110% in favor of any business anywhere having the right to own and operate interests in any other country. Some people seem to be the missing the point here: some of us really don't care if Heinz owns companies outside the US. What does bother us is the fact that John Kerry whines about other American companies having overseas interests at the cost of American jobs, while his wife's HJ Heinz Company does it at the tune of 57 out of their 79 plants- that's over 72% of their total number of plants. How many Americans are employed at those 57 plants? How many Americans lost their jobs because of those 57 plants? Maybe we'll never know, but one thing is certain: it's okay for Kerry and his wife to send American jobs overseas, but it's not okay for anyone else? I don't think so.

Heinz can send jobs overseas all day long for all I care. But Kerry doesn't need to blow the "The-President's-letting-our-jobs-go-overseas" gas out of his hypocritical butt.

Uh, thanks for the rage. You missed the point. Kerry has been blaming Bush for "outsourcing," when the intelligent response to the worldwide manufacturing efforts of a multinational company would be, that's the way business is done in today's world. I meant Kerry's intelligent--honest-- response, not yours.
