[history]
Bodies of seven children age 8 and younger are discovered after Marcus Wesson, 57, surrenders and is arrested after a 2-hour standoff.
At a small home near Roeding Park where authorities found a stack of nine bodies in one room and 10 caskets in another, Fresno police on Friday arrested a man suspected of fathering some of the victims and murdering them all.

Ping! Frank Muna (remember him?) mentioned in this story, which took place in Fresno.
To: Devil_Anse
Remind me about who Frank is. I can guess the case, but can't remember the particulars. ;-)

Frank Muna is a lawyer in Fresno. (I think... anyway, he's a California lawyer who is located near Modesto.) He has made several TV appearances related to the Peterson case--on the talking head shows.
He represented a person named Cory Carroll, who was in jail for petty crimes, in or near Fresno. Carroll claimed that he knew of two biker types, whose street names were "Dirty" and "Skeeter". Carroll claimed to have met Scott Peterson at a strip club, while playing pool in the back. He claimed that Peterson wanted to hire someone to steal his wife's Land Rover. He also claimed that he got Scott in touch with Dirty and Skeeter. The implication was that maybe Scott hired those people to off Laci.
When pressed on what might be Dirty and Skeeter's real names, Carroll said that one of them was named Tony and the other was named Anthony. That, in itself, started to give the lie to Carroll's strange story.
Carroll, presumably with Muna's help, sold some stories to the tabloids and picked up some nice cash.

In short, Frank Muna is a link btw the Peterson case, and THIS case. And this case is starting to look like it may be written off to a "satanic cult".

Hey Dev - watch Geragos try to "link" this to the Peterson case!! The guy is a real freak. You can tell he's mentally ill by his eyes. Nobody who is normal buys and stores coffins in their house.

Thanks for the reminder. I atually tuned out of that part of the case because it sounded so silly.
Geragos sure does associate with some sleeze balls, doesn't he?
This case sounds like one of those other-worldly scenarios, young women giving away custody of babies/children for months or years, then wanting them back???
I'm with you on the smell thing, CO. Let's pray it was *only* meth.

Frank!! He certainly has a way of inserting himself into high profile cases. He was just on Fox News talking about this case. At the end the interviewer asked him about the Laci case. He said his client would not be testifying - he wasn't needed to support the prosectutor's theory.

I saw the interview with Lawyer Frank Muna on Fox a few minutes ago.
He was asked about the horrible "cooking smell" and he said he had checked out past complaints and found it to be nothing more than "filth" coming from the house. (No comment..)
I don't have it in me to even guess what the desperate M. Geragos is going to go for to connect the dots with this case and poor Laci's murder.
I can't even think that low..

Weird. When I saw the story on the news, I assumed we were talking about a white guy. Does anyone know the statistics for serial killers? I seem to remeber that the are almost always white. I guess this is more of a mass murder than a serial killing, though.

I'm not a psychiatrist, but I think a single act of mass murder is different than a serial killer. I think this was a custody battle gone bad. I do think there was some weird cult thing though.
Most serial killers are white. Juan Corona, Wayne Williams and Charles Ng are not the norm.

I'm sure there can always be more. But, this is usually the kind of lines repeated by everyone in contact with a serial killer or mass murderer. You forgot "he was quiet and kept to himself"!

You can tell he's mentally ill by his eyes.Reminds me of the eyes of that Rowland woman who wouldn't get the c-section. Stoned. Out of it. There's a "loose" look about the both of 'em, something's missing...

When I first saw the story come up on Fox news this AM the first thing I thought was, oh God MG will try to link this to Laci and Connor's murder somehow. But even tho this may be a "cult" situation, I do not think that MG can insinuate any connection here.
I'm sure he's just praying for some bizzare thing to bail his client out now....this is not going to work for him tho. Too bizzare to figure out.
Did you see the interview this AM with the suspect's oldest son this morning on Fox? He walked onto the scene with some bizzare statements.

Morning!
His eyes look to be drug/booze reddened.
The woman involved with a man like this have to be severe mental cases of low self esteem or self worth.
These type of cases should be a wake up call to decency revitalized in our country. Doing your own thing can get you killed.

I was watching a documentary style show on Ron Jeremy and still for the life of me cannot figure out what women see in him regardless of the fact that he has a huge penis.
Deveiant sexual practices do seem to be at the core of these type of cases.
One more reason to keep some things un changed throughout history.
The cops were in shock and needed mental counseling after viewing the scene? Hmmm this guy did something very bizarre in that home with those dead kids.
What did his son say?
The killer is cooperating and hopefully he will fess up skip a trial and tell officials what the hell his gig was....could save lives.
