My take on that is gas is heavier than air, and it settled in low lying depression areas after a cold front come through.

My question is: Why are toxic gasses being emitted in such concentration to kill such a large animal?

And despite the claim this is a RARE phenomenon, bison are very large animals. Humans hike, camp and access those areas of the park. We've got dophins dead, massive elk kill, bisons down. How long until humans are affected by one of these "rare", "lichen caused," or "unexplained" caused deaths?

Add birds to the animals I listed in my previous post.
