RE: letter indicating AQ is 90% ready to strike the US.

I am hoping that the MEMRI analysis of this letter is correct. It was their opinion that the letter was written in a style NOT consistent with other AQ writings.

However, MEMRI also indicated that the letter was not written in OBL's scholarly manner. Could it be that someone else had to write the letter, since we allegedly snatched OBL at the end of January?

Someone on this thread pointed out that the last "Voice of Jihad" was not written in its usual manner, either- in fact, was quite sloppy.

It would be great to get OBL, but getting him would in no way diminish the threat against the US. These people are like drug dealers, get one and three more take the removed one's place.

Not to be gloomy, but to face sad facts: the Palestinians are raising their children to hate the US and Israel and that it is a good thing to kill as many of us as they can. Arafat and his cronies have established a breeding ground for terrorists.

Until we face that un-PC fact that this is a religious war and to win it we’re going to have to get nasty, the situation we’re in will continue for the foreseeable future. Eventually, these maggots will get off a successful attack on the US mainland. Time is on their side, not ours.

In any war, civilians are the first ones to die. That is a proven fact that history has taught but we have refused to learn or have forgotten. A nuclear detonation on US soil should bring about a response unimaginable. Would it? That depends on who’s on the WH. If this war goes on too long, there will be a detonation.

I don't know. I tend to give the letter some credibility since they did claim responsibility and it turned out not to be ETA after all. Just like no one believed them when they claimed responsibility for the blackout. I still think that was a deliberate act. I'm finding more and more that our first instincts are usually right. Like with the sniper, the soldier who tossed a grenade in the officer's tent, and yes - even the blackout IMO. All along we've been discussing here that there would be a preemptive strike overseas first and I think this was it.
