It wouldn't GREATLY surprise me if ETA and AQ joined forces for an operation.

However, I view ETA as a LOT MORE parochial than AQ. ETA really prefers to do their own thing as I see it.

I do think there may be some effort to minimize outrage as much as possible about the AQ brand of terrorism. The politicos probably feel that they have their hands full enough at best.

We shall see how it unfolds!

AQ, ETA, IRA, Shining Path, Red Brigade and many other terrorist groups work together. Politics is less important than being a terrorist. They have trained together, traded information and weapons for years.
That is why we must wage war on all terrorists, regardless of their politics, not just AQ.
