Why did Iranian troops fire on us? Did they allege that we had crossed their border or was it just for target practice?

I'm not sure why the Iranian troops fired on us. Just to let us know they were there I think.

It's my guess that since things are heating up internally in Iran, that the Iranian troops were issuing a warning. They don't want a bunch of American troops coming in if they have a full scale revolt on their hands. Things were tense all across Iran last night. It may heat up more this weekend with the celebration of the Iranian new year on Saturday.
