WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.

"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

Fox is reporting a fire near Red Square...reporter on scene was at dinner in the area (Simon Marks, I think he's British?) and talked about the smell, etc., and that the response was minimal...still showing images of the smoke and red glow.

I hope their denial doesn't cost them the election. That's another thing OUR government hasn't learned. People hate to be lied to. I do think that article in the Jerusalem Post had it right. It's a normal process to deny something so ghastly. It's part of the grief process and is usually the first stage. Denial. While some CAN see mass denial in Governmental responses, others of us see lying and subterfuge. It's a fine line.

Just saw a Sky News post saying Spain's exit poles look good for our side. :)

And is getting even bigger from what they just showed at 11:20...didn't really say anything cause it was as they were going to break, but the flames are definitely much higher and brighter, it appears...

Wonder how long it'll be before they've got someone claiming responsbility in light of the talk of something happening in Moscow...

Fox reporter calling it an extraordinary coincidence. I should say so - A building standing since 1819 goes up in flames after the election results are announced, what are the odds?

Yeah, not like they can suddenly claim it was a fire hazard and it was just a matter of time when it suddenly goes up within minutes of the election stuff...

I'm honestly surprised at how carefully they're wording things (they as in reporters) given how on edge everyone must be after what happened in Spain and then the other threats. I figured they'd be saying it anything that happened the next few days/weeks would be suspect.
