WASHINGTON (CNN) -- This week's deadly train bombings in Spain will not lead to a rise in the U.S. color-coded terror threat alert system, a Department of Homeland Security spokesman said Friday.
"Based on the current intelligence, we have no specific indicators that terrorist groups are considering such an attack in the U.S. in the near term," said department spokesman Brian Roehrkasse.

Race to save trapped Britons
By Alexa Baracaia, Evening Standard
23 March 2004
Six Britons are today at the centre of a rescue bid after being trapped for six days in a collapsed cave in Mexico.
The six, four of them military personnel, are believed to be 120 feet below ground. They have been unable to escape since rising water levels caused the cave to collapse last Wednesday. The other two are believed to be a former Army major and a civilian guide.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence confirmed that members of the Army, Royal Navy and RAF are involved and that all are with the Tiger 2004 expedition.
All six of the trapped cavers are believed to be male, but no names are being released until next of kin have been informed. The highest-ranking is a captain, said the spokesman.
"They were on an expedition planned to be 36 hours long but while in the cave the rain came on heavier than forecast - which meant the water level in part of the cave went up," he added. (snipped)

Writing the date backwards would make it 5/15/04 - Armed Forces Day.
EXTRA SECURITY FOR SYNAGOGUES, JEWISH NEIGHBORHOODS
UPDATED: 7:56 am EST March 23, 2004
NEW YORK -- Synagogues in predominantly Jewish neighborhoods would get extra police protection following Israel's killing of Hamas leader Sheik Ahmed Yassin, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.
His announcement Monday came as Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, threatened the United States and suggested it might seek outside help in carrying out revenge attacks.
"We have no specific threat as far as the Yassin incident is concerned, but we are taking some additional precautions," Kelly said.
Uniformed officers would patrol synagogues throughout the city and extra plainclothes officers would roam Jewish neighborhoods such as Williamsburg, Midwood and Borough Park in Brooklyn, Kelly said. The Israeli Consulate and United Nations would also receive extra security, he said.
"The statements from Hamas leaders were all saying that this could not have happened without U.S. approval, and they're threatening the U.S. as well," Kelly said.

From your post articles and threats......"We say to you: the Swarm of the Smoke of Death will reach you soon in a site where you will be able to see thousands dead, if God wants, and this is a warning.
We say to the Muslims worldwide that the gust of Winds of the Black Death already is in its final phase, in a ninety percent, if God wants, at its appropriate moment."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The swarm of the smoke of death is a new phrase, isn't it? The black wind of death has been said over and over, not to mention over and over that it's 90% ready.
This Black Death warning seems to continue. I think the sb4515 and this black smoke and wind could be related because usually their threat (codes?) seem to phase out but these two continue. "swarm" is a word used in a series of earthquakes in the same location. Kind of far fetched to think they have that ability but I'm not ready to rule anything out and I think everyone else agrees.
The cell phone connection for sb4515 post by all4one responding to the sb4515 EMI suppression coil information from Selene a little further down seems very plausible and frightening at the same time considering the Spain blasts were triggered by cell phones.
Can someone tell me where we first saw the ref. to 4515 and in what context it was used?
To: 4thygipper
While researching 4515, this is one place I found it used.
"And we say to the Squadron Abu Ali al Harfi that the leadership has decided to consider Yemen the third marshland, and we will give a lesson to its apostate government coming just after Pervez Musharraf. For it, all the cells ought to be on the alert, and the action will begin 4515."
Correcting myself, I did find a reference to all three death threats..................
"The statement, Bakri said, "promised three operations, one called 'train
of death' in Spain, one called 'black smoke of death in Italy' and one
called 'the wind of death in the US'."
"All these operations have been named and I do believe we should take
the threat of al-Qaeda seriously," Bakri said.
"All the websites and the chatrooms of Islamists throughout the Middle
East and Europe on the Internet have some type of praise ... for the
great victories achieved by al-Qaeda" in Spain, Bakri said.
re: swarms of death
Isn't that from the same letter that we've seen before, it's just a different translation?
It's also been referred to as the Death-Smoke Squad:
"We say to you that the Death-Smoke Squad will reach you soon, and then you will see your dead by the thousands, Allah willing, and this is a warning."
Russian admiral causes nuclear panic
Tue 23 March, 2004 16:44
"The ship is in such a condition that it may blow up any minute."
Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov
By Oleg Shchedrov
MOSCOW (Reuters) - The head of the Russian navy has caused panic after being quoted saying one of the world's most powerful nuclear warships might be about to blow up.
But Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov then denied making the comment and said he meant only that the Peter the Great, the pride of Moscow's Northern Fleet, was being poorly maintained.
Russian military analysts said the incident may have had less to do with an imminent danger than with rivalries among the top brass of a navy struggling to stay afloat on a budget that has been dramatically cut since its Cold War heyday.
Two major news agencies, Itar-Tass and Interfax, quoted Kuroyedov as saying he had ordered the nuclear-powered cruiser back to port and warning that "it may blow up any minute".
But some hours later, the admiral said he had been misquoted and the agencies' reports were "not true in any way".
"The ship's nuclear safety system is fully tested and meets all vital requirements," he told Tass in his later remarks.
"However, the state of the living quarters and the general state of the ship is unsatisfactory and fails to meet requirements set down by regulations."
He had given the crew two weeks to fix the problems. It was not clear where the ship was. Its home port is near Murmansk on Russia's Arctic coast, close to borders with Norway and Finland.
The 19,000-ton Kirov-class vessel has 20 cruise missiles that can be equipped with nuclear warheads.
Designed to challenge the U.S. Navy in the Cold War and originally named the Yuri Andropov after the former Soviet leader, the Peter the Great -- or Pyotr Veliky -- spent years in the dockyard after the Soviet Union collapsed before being finally commissioned, despite concerns over its cost, in 1998.
PUTIN EMBARRASSED
Declared the Northern Fleet's model ship last year, it plays a key role in manoeuvres in the North Atlantic and has often hosted visits by officials, including President Vladimir Putin.
Kommersant newspaper quoted naval sources saying Kuroyedov's decision to recall the ship was motivated by rivalries among admirals, including Kuroyedov and the ship's master, Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov, who is a bitter critic of the navy chief.
The Northern Fleet upset Putin last month when three missile tests failed during his pre-election visit to the scene of Russia's biggest war games in two decades.
The fleet also saw Russia's worst incident with a nuclear-powered vessel. The state-of-the-art submarine Kursk sank with all hands in 2000, months after Putin was elected, creating public relations disaster for the new president.
But Tass quoted Sergei Perevoshchikov, technical director of the Northern Fleet's nuclear-powered vessels, as saying all vessels were fully maintained and reliable.
"The Kursk accident showed that even with such a powerful explosion on the ship, the reactor itself was undamaged," he was quoted as saying. "This is the best proof of its reliability."
Seems like Italy could be next. I have been searching this swarm, smoke of death thing and come up only with oil refinery fires, earthquakes and of course Italy has volcanoes just like we do, but that is far fetched, I think.
Explosion rocks Thailand's Muslim south
"swarm" is a word used in a series of earthquakes in the same location. Kind of far fetched to think they have that ability but I'm not ready to rule anything out and I think everyone else agrees. Swarm would refer to a clustering of numerous events. Example a 'swarm' of bombs went off in Spain. Doubt anything earthquake related.
