Having had two near death experiences myself, I can tell you that angels sure do seem real to me.

God Bless Ronald Reagan. I wrote this on his birthday.

CG

Happy Birthday

I liked you in the movies,
All made so long ago.
On TV in my youthful years,
You'd host that western show.
Later on I'd catch your talks,
On late night radio.
Your great talks on the U S A,
Helped keep me in the know.
Then when you ran for President,
I was the first in line.
I cast my vote and felt so good,
My vote I knew was fine.
You led us through some tough times,
With such class through it all.
You stood and faced the Soviets,
That caused the wall to fall.
So Happy Birthday to you Ron,
You're still high on my chart.
I pray for you and Nancy too,
You both have won my heart.

God protects us because He loves us and wants us to be with Him. He also appoints rulers over us. God appointed President Reagan and I believe he fulfilled God's expectation and purpose for this nation.

Pray that God will protect President Bush - another great leader whom the Almighty Father has chosen to serve Him while he serves us in this terrible time.

I defer to no non catholic in my reguard for the present Pope. But I was taken by the differing initial reactions of he and Reagan to their near martyrdom. Pope JPII as I recall was bewildered that someone might try to take his life, Ronald Reagan's first comment was his hope that the doctors aiding him were not democrats.

Oddly enough I had the same hand-holding experience last year while in ICU with heart-attack that took me to the edge.

Briefly my experiences were as follows;

When I was 3 I almost drowned I had stopped brathing. I can remember it like yesterday. I saw a bright blue light in the water (murky lake water 10 feet deep) and wasn't scared anymore. I felt something push me upward to the surface and someone grabbed me and swam to shore. I was resusitated and looked at my mom and asked, "Where is the blue lady?" She still gets teary eyed when I bring it up and that was 47 years ago.

The other time had to do with a motorcycle accident at 16 and being pronounced dead. A voice told me "NOT YET" and I woke up. Freaked out an emergency room team.

There is a lot more story but that is the gist and I type slow.

If you ever have a long period for typing, I would like to hear more. I'm sure that others here would, too.

Thanks. I plan to take some time in the future to write more about it.

I'll summarize now by saying I don't care what other's believe, I've been there.

Thank you. He is a great man. I sent the poem to the family under my real name. I hope they got it.

This is my first post, so I ask everyone's forebearance.

It's probably just me but I've reread your post several times and I still don't quite know what your point was. However, regarding Reagan's comment to the doctors as they were preparing to operate on him, it wasn't a "hope" - it was a joke he made to put them at ease. All the doctors present understood that.

Your post is obviously more clear than mine. I am a very thrifty poster and just hope most people can decipher what I'm getting at. Often I'm just flippant with no point at all. As a new poster maybe you don't realize that I'm usually readily ignored.
My point was, here are two men who have reached the pinacle of human endeavor, the Pope in the lofty realm of the spirit, Reagan in the common sphere of politics. Which road leads a man to the greater understanding of the reality of the human condition? When faced with the his personal Calvary who seemed perplexed and who seemed so modestly accepting of God's will, that he reacted with humor(and truth at the same time). I could continue this thought procees for pages, The Pope saw evil first hand growing up in the constant war and social upheaval in the spiritual nation of Poland, the battleground of the worldly political titans. Reagan in the placid American midwest. The Popes vocation led him to the maelstrom of of the clash between good and evil, the Church. Reagan to the make beleive world of Hollywood. Who seemed better prepared for his personal day of judgement, and more accepting? See this is getting out of hand, this is why I post and run, Everything is just too complicated to spell out in detail, life is too short.

Why did he appoint the Clintons?

The Lord works in mysterious ways, indeed.

I was putting mail in an elderly couple's mailbox a few years ago, and a voice in my head said, "Neither of them should go anywhere near stairs." The house was on a lake. They had to climb a steep set of stone stairs to street level and the mailbox. I decided to put the mail inside their screen door, instead and did so. I also considered writing a note, warning them about stairs, but not say I'd heard voices, thank you very much! I figured they'd laugh and ignore any warning. Three days later neighbors told me the gentleman of that house had fallen down the cellar stairs (stone walled cellar), and been horribly injured. Despite heroic efforts, he died before the week was out. I've experienced several other incidents like that, where a voice warned me of danger to people, and every time I have the same reaction...dither, dither, half measures. In another case I did warn the woman she might be robbed, and perhaps averted it. The third time a black policeman was directing traffic as night was falling,(no reflective vest), and a voice warned that he was in terrible danger. I figured he knew what he was doing, and if I stopped the car and said anything, he'd tell me to shut up and move along...so I didn't warn him. Ten minutes later he was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg. He's now back on duty, handing out tickets right and left. I just wish I'd hear lottery numbers. I keep telling God I'd give to the needy and spread it around, but so far not a peep. Sigh.

Your words are perfect. I can only add that we love and admire President Reagan and ask God's blessings upon him.

...perhaps because we had been bad little boys and girls...perhaps to show us that we need to have faith in God rather than man...perhaps it's just a mystery that will not be revealed until after the rapture...
