Yeah, I've seen it, but I don't mind seeing it again........especially since it's now verified as a true story.
(Although it was so in character that I thought it was probably true the first time I saw it.....)

You know, it quite possibly could be an urban legend. I don't think it would be believable however if people didn't get a sense of kindness from George W. Bush, the man, not the president.
I prefer something that creates a president of mythic stature in 150 or 200 years when this nation needs guidance than one a president who is a mockery because he left a stain.
Let the legend grow.

Anyone who has accepted the Lord Jesus Christ is welcome to take communion in my church. I've never heard of it being restricted by denomination.

I wasn't doubting the validity of the story, I was more responding to that specific post.
I realized I should have written EVEN IF the story rather than it could be possibly.
Respectfully,
O.N.C.

"If you are a baptized christian, you can take communion in an Episcopal church."
Unlike a larger, un-named religion whose priest denied me at the alter the right of communion because I didn't know the proper religious protocol.

The writer, without saying these words, conveys powerfully one simple fact: the President and the writer were equals before God in His house and in worship of Him; the President knew it and wanted attention directed to God rather than himself. Also, these reports (I've read a number of other personal encounter reports) keep coming up with one beautiful insight: Bush is very spiritually sensitive to the people around him.
