Kerry Says Credibility Not Damaged By Former Comrade's LieAn excerpt:
Kerry said he hasn't spoken to Hubbard since the week of April 19, 1971, "and everybody was disappointed by what they learned back in 1971. To his credit, [Hubbard] did serve his nation. He had simply exaggerated his particular position. But nobody knew it at the time, and those things happen."
Now the bombshell:
But as CNSNews.com previously reported, Hubbard had done more than just exaggerate his rank in the Air Force. CBS News reporter William Overend, a writer for the network's anchorman Walter Cronkite in 1971, investigated Hubbard's war claims even further and discovered that there was no record of Hubbard having ever served in Vietnam. In addition, Hubbard was not shot down as he alleged and did not receive a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during battle.

I just had a great conversation with Tom Lipscomb. He is no rightwing idealogue. Other mainstream papers did not want to do this story. He is prepared to go on talk shows with this story.
Lipscomb did a piece for the Chicago Sun Times on Feb. 11 about the AWOL charge against Bush. He expected to find a drunk, rich, frat kid with coke up his nose. He did not find that. Bush did more than required in making up drills.
He also did a story defending Kerry on his medals.
This story must be pursued.
Good news. A major, major journalist just returned my email and finds the story interesting. Let's see if he takes it to the mainstream.

Senators like John Stennis, Strom Thurmond, and John Tower were his targets, according to Mr. Camil. They were to be killed during the Senate Christmas recess the following month.Hmmm--putting on my tinfoil armor, I will venture to mention that this reminds me of the George Wallace shooting the following year:
Portrait of an Assassin: Arthur Bremer
It was March of 1972 when Bremer began his diary. Increasingly lonely, he dreamed of getting attention through assassination. "'Now I start my diary of my personal plot to kill by pistol either Richard Nixon or George Wallace,'" he wrote in his first entry.

Scott Camil, proposed the assassination of the most hard-core conservative members of Congress,as well as any other powerful, intractable opponents of the antiwar movement. Good Luck!

According to Randy Barnes, everybody knew that the discussion in that hall "was grounds for criminal indictment of conspiracy."
And I left out the part about two witnesses placing Kerry at the meeting and resigning as a result of the assassination plot. BTW, if that's true, then it's also true that Kerry failed to report the plot, because there sure as heck would have been arrests. So why not? If the assassination plot was crazy enough that JFKerry resigned the VVAW, yet he failed to report the consipiracy, then only three possible reasons present themselves, to my eye: 1. Kerry didn't want to rat out any of his latest "band of brothers," which would parallel the "brothers" he claims to have witnessed committing atrocities in Vietnam, but didn't report. 2. Kerry couldn't report the conspiracy because his VVAW "brothers" had info on him, or because he was concerned that ancillary info on him would come out in an investigation of the conspiracy. 3. Kerry was threatened. I lean toward #2.

"Kerry said he hasn't spoken to Hubbard since the week of April 19, 1971..."
This makes Gerald Nicosia ("Home To War") out to be a liar, since he devotes a couple of pages describing in detail how Kerry and Hubbard had a showdown in July 1971. He even has quotes.
Kerry reviewed Nicosia's book with raves, and even gave him a book party in his Senate office.
"and everybody was disappointed by what they learned back in 1971. To his credit, [Hubbard] did serve his nation. He had simply exaggerated his particular position. But nobody knew it at the time, and those things happen."
I've posted on the threads I've linked above how Kerry tried to minumize Hubbard's lies. He said Hubbard only lied about his ranks. But again according to Nicosia, Kerry challenged Hubbard about having even gone to Vietnam. They almost came to blows.
"Hubbard had done more than just exaggerate his rank in the Air Force. CBS News reporter William Overend, a writer for the network's anchorman Walter Cronkite in 1971, investigated Hubbard's war claims even further and discovered that there was no record of Hubbard having ever served in Vietnam. In addition, Hubbard was not shot down as he alleged and did not receive a Purple Heart for injuries sustained during battle."
No, I've already posted about that in the above linked thread and elsewhere. Hubbard was not a pilot, was not a captain, was not injured in combat and was not in Vietnam.

Thank you
We have so many snakes among us
I used to like Emeril Lagasse the TV Chef!
Every now and than he would make backhand slams to various American Icons!
like uderminding the Boy Scouts views on same-sex members, making fun of Traditional Christian values in coy way. Taking swips on white America and the pass on Blacks!
He would make these remarks and it would be so subtle!
Now Lagasse is Portuguese like Kerry wife!
I always like the Portuguese but now it makes one wonder why the contempt for America?
The thought police on the left are out to nail freespeech,
yet all the while they are bashing the heck out of the those who try to live a code of ethics!
Look around pay attention some people/things may seem innocuous but are the eyes, ears and purse to overthrow this country!

I agree--theory #2 is probably the closest. He has proven himself to be a blowhard and opportunist all his life.
When his first millionaire wife went through depression, he dropped her bigger than Dallas.
When this group proved a threat to him!--JFK II - he had to drop them as well.
To: Sabertooth
No, if Kerry knew and didn't report it (which I believe is very likely) it was because it would tar him as well.
The VVAW was Kerry's only claim to fame. He couldn't help expose them for the lunatics that they in fact were.
Remember, he is still milking his VVAW connections. They are still his band of brothers. John Hurley, who runs Veterans For Kerry and is a major Kerry spokesman is a former VVAW member.
Joe Bangert is a major veterans organizer for Kerry, and has been for many of his elections, going back to his run for lt. Governor. Bangert is as big a liar as Hubbard and almost as crazy as Camil:

What was even more telling was the looks on the faces of his adoring Senators, what had been up until that question looks of smirking approval, and then there was a look of "FEAR". And they stop the questions shortly after that
Also .. did you notice that Hellary was there yesterday.
I hadn't till I saw a clip of it this morning on Fox & Friends .. for some odd reason, she stayed way in the back as not to be seen on the cameras
I thought that was very odd

why, oh why, would the Kerry campaign contact HIM?That is a good question.
I can however, see why Kerry expect a dirty campaign, and why Bush does not need to mention any of this. It will come out.
But I'm afraid it will have as little effect on Kerry as it did on clinton.
Bottom line, if the economy is undeniably improving, especially jobs, Bush wins.

Possible. However, Kerry would have had to be willing to gamble that the assassination plot would never see the light of day. Maybe he is that dumb, or maybe it's a combination of factors.

Makes you wonder if any of this info was "vetted" during his numerous senate campaigns....weren't there folks among the Massachusetts republicans that wanted to dig dirt on Kerry? Sure seems to be enough of it to use a backhoe.
Guess 1) the people's republic of Massachusetts didn't care and 2) the RINOs running against Kerry had their own skeletons.......
