Could be wrong, but I sense that
this woman is delusional - about
many things. Her politics and her
oddball activities became a danger
at some point when she crossed the
line to work with actual foreign
agents. But all the while, "I did
more to stop terrorism than...and
I've done many great things for
America...blah blah blah".

Not excusing her; just sense some
form of mental problem.

that's exactly what I thought..."mental case". I think one of the symptoms is "innaproriate affect" i.e smiling exuberantly whilst in handcuffs on your way to the big house.
