What a great speech! I wish he could deliver a prime time address at the national convention.
"...The central idea from which all of our partys minor thoughts radiate is... that there are certain rights that come directly from the laws of nature and of natures God rights that we hold as individuals and that the purpose of government is to protect those rights..."
"...The central idea from which all of the Democratic partys minor thoughts radiate is that rights come from government and that they serve the greater good however the greater good might be defined by those in power..."
I believe that the great corrupter of freedom is power. Too many who start out believing in freedom loose their way when they become office holders and drop the banner of liberty in favor of the emblem of power.
Because we elect people who seek office instead of those who deserve office, we start with a pool of individuals who are predisposed to love themselves more than they love others, who love their own freedom more than they love freedom for others, who are servants of their own pride, and who believe their clever power to persuade and beguile makes them special.

What a great speech! I wish he could deliver a prime time address at the national convention. That would be fantastic. I think he could certainly warrant it because he gained such a high profile during the recall, conservatives especially got to know who he is, and LIKE him.
Problem is, he's too much of a maverick and the Party bosses don't tend to treat mavericks well. They certainly wouldn't respond well to giving him a prime national speaking spot.
