Added snippet...that I've not heard/read elsewhere:
Yesterday, a caller to the Hugh Hewitt Show said that her daughter is currently a
student at a university in Madrid.
The caller's daughter said that it appeared that it was likely that the
train attack probably fell short of the real goal: to have the explosives go off when
the trains were inside crowded terminals.
The daughter said that at least for one of the trains the bombs went off just about
100 yards short of the terminal.
As tragic as the losses are...if this conjecture is true, there is at least some
solace to think that maybe the terrorists were not popping all their bottles of champagne
yesterday.

Yes, other reports I've read indicate that, bad as it was, this strike fell short of expectations.
But bear in mind, this- like incidents in Israel- are the Canary in America's Coal Mine. Coming soon to a Mall or school here...
I just hope we still have the iron will and heart to strike back at these vermin.

Yep, I agree.
I know it's a cruel calculus, but it does give a bit of perspective to consider
that these murderous thugs are falling short of some of their targeted objectives.
At the same time, that MIGHT be a problem.
As I suspect that if these cowardly murders did manage to kill 10,000 civilians in
one action...the retribution would be swift, decisive...and TOTAL.
even if it would involve efficient work that violated the Geneva Convention
and lots of other dictates of The United Nations.
IIRC, it was reported that during the general scheming leading up to 9-11, one of
the principals was quoted as saying that a nuclear strike had been considered...
but even the braintrust of Al-Quida thought better of it.
I think the guy said "things could have gotten out of hand".
Even if they think of "The West" as a bunch of decadent, weak infidels...
they know that one radioactive crater in Lower Manhattan might just have
lead to sand melted to glass where Mecca, Medina and a bunch of other Muslim
power-centers once stood.
And there wouldn't be a mosque left standing. Or congregants to attend them.

-back in 1999...which was designed by the same architect who did the World Trade Center. Oh, and like the Palestinian terrorist organization PFLP (formerly Black September), ETA is Communistic. ETA's founders fought for the Communists against the NAZI's (and lost, obviously) in Spain's civil war just prior to WW2.

You have a role to play here. You have a decision to make ... and that decision will be made on November 2nd. You will decide who is going to lead this country in this time of peril ... this era of Islamic terrorism.
