I've always wondered if this is not only about gas but kids, yes - kids. You can't fit more than 2 kids in those tuna cans and everyone knows dems and fems don't want you having children with the world being over crowded and all.
Everyone just a few years ago had 4 or more kids, and a few years before that they had 6. It's just another way to punish large families who are keeping their quiver full as God has told us.

Oil gluttony a "moral" issue? Debatable. A national security issue? Little doubt.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. You have the right to be wrong.)

I think it's a moral issue.

I recall in the 1970's in Houston there where Bumper Stickers that read "Drive Fast, Freeze a Yankee." Perhaps they should print bumper stickers that read "Drive an SUV, Fund a Terrorist.

All they had to do was state that the state could save a significant amount of money by purchasing smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles and that would have been enough to convince me. When they brought "What would Jesus Drive?" into it, I knew they were a left wing quasi-religious envirowacko group and now I hope the state gets bigger vehicles. And all the saints say "Amen!"
It's like these groups that run "scare ads". They pretty much guarantee that I will vote just the opposite. If there wasn't something seriously twisted about them and whatever they are pushing they could simply give me a few facts and let me decide. They wouldn't be trying to scare me and lie to me.
