Why don't they just ban the damn stuff and we can get on with a Civil War! Plus, cut their damn MSA money! I'd love it!

ACS CAN has launched a nationwide grassroots campaign, including running phone banks and local advertising, to line up support for a vote on the Amendment, which may come as early as today. This is NOT a grassrots effort of any kind - this is lobbying being done by a tax-exempt so-called health organization.....

Gabz:
Off topic: I saw TSP at WalMart yesterday under the "Red Devil" label if you haven't already gotten some.

"This Amendment is good fiscal policy and good for public health," said Gary J. Streit, a member of the ACS CAN Board of Directors. "Raising the federal tobacco tax will generate ample new revenue for public health, including cancer research and prevention with enough left over for deficit reduction. On top of that, higher cigarette taxes are proven to reduce smoking, especially among youth. We call that a win-win, win-win." Barbra Steisand..............if they didn't waste so dadgum much money on efforts to denomize and denormalize smoers there would be more than enough money for cancer research and deficit reduction..........

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) is the nonprofit, nonpartisan sister advocacy organization of the American Cancer Society. ACS CAN is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major public health problem through voter education and issue campaigns aimed at influencing candidates and lawmakers to support laws and policies that will help people fight cancer. The more I read of this more and more ticked off I am getting.
This is not "voter education" it is out and out lobbying and electioneering - both violations of non-profit tax exempt status it enjoys.
These lobbying efforts need to be called what they are and these NGO's need to be totally stripped of their tax exempt status.
The IRS is all over every day tax payers for the littlest thing - but these groups day in and day out blatantly fault the laws and are given a pass.
Why is there no outrage over it??????

A few days ago, you had remarked that you had a mold problem at the house and wanted to know where you could get some TSP. I saw some at WallyWorld and thought, "I should let her know."
Here, let me light that for ya. ; )

Why is there no outrage over it?????? I can't understand it, Gabz. Everyone else puts up a fight when something THEY enjoy is under attack.
I guess the anti's have gotten to most smokers for this to carry on. What sheeple we have become. Everyone bitches but no one can do anything.
If we only had the money...............

As far as I know, only one cancer is related to smoking, what are we going to do about the other 95%.

Alright, Mr. Weiner, this is only gonna hurt for a second. I'm gonna pull the ban (dage) off all at once. You may want to blubber for a little while, but in the end you'll thank me for doing it quickly, rather than piecemeal.
