Actually that' not entirely true. Take you everage Amazon tribe for example. They live in total isolation and are as close to being truly free as any men on earth. And yet they are technologically equivalent to cavemen.

The savage tribesman lives a life that is completely transparent to his neighbors, and totally dependent upon them for his own well-being. Practically every tribe is a small socialist tyranny, with a Big Man at the top whose word is law.
