The teachers are never fired - they are reassigned or put on leave until an "investigation" clears them. It's disgusting. And we pay these people $54,000+ per year - yes, Ohio does. Cleveland school teachers are among the best paid.

My Flaming Liberal/lesbian sister with Munchausen Syndrome was a Cleveland teacher until she finally came up with enough illnesses to go on disability. Our nephew lives within the boundry of Cleveland proper and refuses to send his sons to a Cleveland School for that reason. He goes to Ohio Virtual Academy, which is Bill Bennett's K12. The son is doing swimmingly!
