Looking back at the transcript (after listening to it on the radio yesterday), I can see your point....you know, I'm thinking Rush is so used to spotting seminar callers that he just jumped a little too quickly on that call....also perhaps his cochliar implant was working properly at that moment and he "heard" something that wasn't even said....

I agree with the caller and you. Stewart broke the law and is now paying the consequences. She knew what she was doing, she's not stupid (except for the whole breaking the law thingy). The fact that she is a rich celebrity did not help any, but she did not get convicted of being rich and famous.

Cramer of CNBC said that the one way you make white collar crime go away is to put these people away. Fines are nothing to them.

I understand your point....please don't give up on Rushbo....if you count the numbers of times he HAS been right versus the wrong times his track record is LIGHT YEARS ahead of the media out there....take this from one who knows -- I've been listening to Rush for over 15 years now....and have learned to take some of the things he says (when he's wrong -- which isn't that often) with a grain of salt...

The Canadian media up here was pretty even-handed (even in this Liberal La-La Land) on the whole Martha thing....I see your points....Rush says things how he sees them....I have learned a LOT from him in 15 years.....even at those time I didn't agree with him (which have been far and few-between)...

Martha was/is a "big girl"....if she can form a billion-dollar co. she has the smarts to know right from wrong....if not, her lawyers could have told her that....in the end, I believe she made the call on going to trial -- NOT her lawyers....

Stupidity got Martha. She's on the freaking board she should have known better. After Enronitis the feds were looking for a symbol to string up, she should have known better. Across the board Martha should have freaking known better, but she was dumb and now she's gonna do jail time for stupidity. Trying to write this off as class envy is raw stupidity on Rush's part, it's the equivalent of the race card and misused almost as often.

Ask him the source of the info. If he gets really evasive, don't act on the tip. If he tells you that he has a "source" at XYZ Corporation who saw the financials that won't be released until the end of the month.

Untill you asked the question it was a market rumor. Once you knew he was passing along insider information (like Martha did) you can not legally act on the information.

She will lose her civil case.

Rush needs to check his facts. Non insiders can and do trade on inside information.

A friend here at work just splaint the whole situation to me and now I think she got what she deserved. The stock sell was nothing, it was her thinking she could win a pissing match against the NYC DA and SEC that was really arrogant of her.

  I'm sorry, but that's incorrect. It doesn't matter who told her. Selling shares is market information, regardless of the source. The reason behind the sales may or may not be inside information - but no one is alleging she was told that.

It always amazes me how easy it is for me to miscommunicate when writing email.

I meant for Rush to get over the Clinton double standard. Of course, I am not being singled out for double treatment for doctor shopping either so maybe his sensitivity is justified or at least understandable.
