A man who snapped his own picture immediately after a carjacking has been sentenced to life in prison.
Superior Court Judge Alice D. Bonner sentenced Darnell Robinson Robinson, 22, Tuesday as a habitual offender.
His latest crime in Fulton County involved the Dec. 17, 2001, armed robbery and car jacking of Eric Haney, 35.
Robinson and his two buddies playfully took snapshots of themselves while driving Haney's stolen SUV and wearing the victim's clothes and jewelry. But they unwittingly left the disposable camera in the vehicle. Police used the photos to bring the trio to justice.
On Friday, the judge ordered the other two men charged in the carjacking, Michael Lee Merritt , 19, and Wendell Mackey, 20, to serve 15-year prison sentences.
What misfortune - even his name and age are "repeat offenders".
