On February 11, 1998, Hillary Clinton told reporters that the Internet needed an "editing" or "gatekeeping" function. The World Wide Web was out of control, she said. It needed to be reined in. Hillary neglected to mention at the press conference that she had already been waging a secret war to silence Internet dissidents for the last four years... Hillary's operatives silenced witnesses; neutralized federal investigations; blackmailed Senators and Congressmen and intimidated journalists. They looked upon the "unregulated" datastream of cyberspace as a threat to their power, potentially devastating in its ability to bypass the controlled, corporate media.Politics is always and only about Power, and (as Santayana said) those who fail to remember the past are condemned to repeat it. The party of the single party state advocates, Hillary's Party, want to assure that will happen.
