Heck, the two are related.
According to a fully sourced ancestral history lineage-linked in the Family Forest Web page, Mr. Bush and Mr. Kerry now are calculated to be at least 9th cousins twice removed. And as more of the pair's ancestral lines continue to grow, the relationship might become even closer, experts say.

    Interesting sidelight on the election.
Maybe that's why Bush is being so nice to Kerry.

Kissin' Cousins is the name of a 1964 Elvis movie...Elvis Presley is distantly related to Jimmy Carter, if I remember correctly. Not sure how that relates to this news...but today we learned that Colin Powell and Paul Wolfowitz are kissing cousins.

They do this every election. Bush was realted to gore. Clinton was related to dole. Clinton was related to bush. Bush was realted to dukakis.

If you have english ancestry, no matter how slight, they can go back far enough and find common relations.

There are more than a few American population groups that pan out like this.

For example anyone with any Acadian ancestry is most likely related to all others. The Acadians of Nova Scotia were all descended from about 10-20 families. Then after 100 years of isolation their descendants were forcibly relocated to Louisiana, Quebec and many New England states.

Likewise descendants from the earliest Virginia colonies that were isolated for several decades at first, then spread out across the U.S. spreading a small common ancestry far and wide.

Just about everyone is related if you go back far enough. If you assume 25 year generations and two parents per for each person, going back 250 years one would have 210 or 1,024 ancestors. Going back another 250 years each of those ancestors had 1,024 ancestors so there are 220 or 1,048,576 ancestors 500 years back. Going back 750 years one would have 230 or 1,073,741,824 ancestors. Going back just one thousand years one would have 240 or 1,099,511,627,776 ancestors. Of course That is a figure many times larger than all the people who have ever lived.

According to a fully sourced ancestral history lineage-linked I do family history work, and I'd liked to see this "fully sourced" claim. But ninth cousins? This is a waste of column space for McCaslin.

If you have english ancestry, no matter how slight, they can go back far enough and find common relations.GENEALOGY n. . . . In the English-speaking world, all those who take up this pursuit announce sooner or later that they can trace their descent back to Edward III. This should surprise no one with a rudimentary knowledge of mathematics; there are probably one or two well-bred basset hounds who could also trace their descent back to Edward III. What is really surprising is that Edward III seems to be regarded as some kind of ultimate antecedent beyond whom the genealogist does not venture, even though anyone descended from Edward III is also descended from his father Edward II, and so on. The author can guess only that the prudery of the late Victorian age (when genealogy became a family pastime) chose to draw a veil before the memory of Edward II in view of the sybaritic Plantagenets bisexual reputation and appalling death (see impalement).-- Peter Bowler, The Superior Person's Book of Words.

is Kerry related to Malcolm/Steve Forbes? No, Kerry is from the Old Yankee Money Forbes.
Steve Forbes grandfather was an immigrant to the US.
I suppose they might be distantly related if you rummage around in Both Forbes faimly ancestries.

If you can get to Edward III, then you have tied into the Brit Royal Family Tree and can claim descent through them from Odin

They forgot Pricess Leah and Luke Skywalker. But then that would make them kin to Darth Vader too.
