As you show, there's no denying that a peasant's fearful attitude is deeply ingrained in the European soul. For the likes of you socialist control is as large a step up from feudalism as you are able to take. Perhaps your great grandchildren will not be so afraid to increas their freedom- but perhaps you prefer they should be as fearful as you.
It won't surprise me if the tribalism of the Arab world creates a freer people than feudalism has in Europe. Tribalism inherently has more appreciation for individuals.
And as America has shown, a free people are the strongest and happiest.
