It's a simple question; why won't you answer it?

Because it's a stupid question. Ask a reasonable question, like whether MOH winners are likely to have openly signed petitions supporting the other side in the war in which they fought, during that war.

Or whether, having signed such a petition, they would have been trusted by their fellow soldiers.

It is quite different in concept to assert that a war was undertaken foolishly or conducted incompetently. What I am discussing is soldiers making public declarations that the opposing side is morally superior. That is what Kerry did in the Vietnam war, and that is what A.N.S.W.E.R. is doing now. It is, in particular, what Michael Moore is saying, that the AQs in Iraq are the freedom fighters.

We know, of course, what freedoms they are fighting for -- the freedom to enslave and sexually mutilate women, the freedom to kill apostates, the freedom to destroy historical and archaeological sites, the freedom to force nations back to feudalism.

The entire 20th century tolerated and even pampered this pestilent scum, because they had oil and we were willing to look the other way. But their oil is running out and they are looking our way now.

Islam may or may not survive as a personal religion, but is will not survive in its current form of national and regional theocracy -- unless they conquer us. Nearly all the ongoing wars in the world today involve Muslims attempting to impose their totalitarian form of government. It is not just the imperialistic United States that is at war with this ideology. The whole non-Islamic world is at war with it. People who think the other side should win should not be in our armed forces.

You could not be more wrong. It's not a choice between one group or another. It's people saying that we don't belong there.

Unless you have some plausible reason for our invading Iraq. I haven't heard any yet.

BUMP: April 14, 2004:

The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not "insurgents" or "terrorists" or "The Enemy." They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow -- and they will win. Get it, Mr. Bush?....I oppose the U.N. or anyone else risking the lives of their citizens to extract us from our debacle...the majority of Americans supported this war once it began and, sadly, that majority must now sacrifice their children until enough blood has been let that maybe -- just maybe -- God and the Iraqi people will forgive us in the end.
