I am so torn about this. I do not think she should go to jail. Not for this. And I'm so angry at all the people here who are gleeful at the thought of her spending time in prison.

She had a chance NOT to go to jail, Hildy, but once again her smuggness got in the way of her dealing with what was going on here.

Why shouldn't she go to jail, because she's Martha Stewart? Don't forget, she's the one that set herself up "as" Martha Stewart.

She a common perjurer who didn't have the sense enough not to show up in court with a $12,000 pocketbook in front of the regular snookers who were going to decide her fate. She might as well have spit in their faces!

"I am so torn about this. I do not think she should go to jail."

She had the option to avoid jail and turned it down. When she did that, she accepted the choice of a jury trial and whatever outcome occurred. Stewart had worked as a broker, knew full well the rules and regulations regarding selling and trading. She knowingly broke the rules, lied to federal investigators and tried to cover up her lies. Had she been honest from the beginning, she wouldn't be in the pickle she's in now. She still refuses to admit any complicity in what happened. Why should someone who perpetuates falsehoods and refuses to admit their guilt be given a break? Even Clinton finally admitted his guilt, although neither of these elitists have apologized for their deliberate deceptions.

#42...I wouldn't wish prison on anyone, Hildy, but how do you know this is her first time doing these 'dirty little deeds'..?

Something tells me this is simply her way .....throughout life.
Whatever it takes seems to be her motto.

Goodness gracious, yesterday I watched a Martha Stewart profile....and even her brother had 'not too nice' things to say about his own sister.

She sounds like a manipulator extraordinaire....fully wanting control of all around her no matter who gets hurt.
