Martha will win the appeal, and all the underachieving class-warfare mongers will wail and gnash their teeth.

I hope she doesn't win an appeal. This is about stealing and lying, not class warfare.

I saw on the news that there have been over six hundred prosecutions of corporate wrongdoing since Enron/WorldCom.

If Martha wasn't a celeb, would you even care that she was convicted of obstructing a fraud investigation or that she lied to federal investigators?

Martha will win the appeal,

Since Martha's legal team did not put on a defense how can their team claim that their client was not represented? Martha's arrogant legal team is stuck on stupid.

She'll be showing the other cons how to make shank cozies.

Martha will win the appeal

Kinda hard to do that when all of the judge's rulings in this case went in her favor.

Was talking to a lawyer friend last night. He said she'll probably do her time at a prison farm in Danbury, CT, though I still think that she might just be looking to purchase real estate somewhere else, if you get my drift.

As for me, I'm still looking for my angry group of white middle class women with our william-sonoma cookware to go rioting because of our anger at guilty verdict.

You're enjoying your weekend a lil' too much.

Martha has no grounds for appeal.

"Martha will win the appeal..."

Odds are against it according to legal experts. They've all said that if she expects to file an appeal, she'll need to get apologetic. Fat chance of that happening. Stewart is still claiming she did nothing wrong, and her calling a summit today to formulate strategy doesn't show she's anywhere near admitting guilt.

I doubt any judge would honor an appeal especially in light of the fact that she was offered a deal and turned it down.

She was a Member of the Board of the NY Stock Exchange at the time she committed these crimes. If she isn't prosecutable then no one is. She will lose on appeal.

She may knock out one count on appeal, max. Appeals are based on mistakes the judge may have made in conducting the trial, not the jury's deliberations and verdict, or the public's reaction
