"Ferocious is the term presidential candidates should fix in their minds when they hear the term Security Moms. Because inside the most gentle, peace-loving, apple-pie baking mommy is a snarling Rottweiler who will kill to keep her babies safe.
Pre-September 11, this willingness to kill for our kids was an instinct the average American mom understood only in abstraction; todays mother feels it in her gut. Every time she sees the televised faces of those deck-of-cards terrorists, she wants to play 52-card pickup with their corpses...
What qualities do security moms look for in a leader to guide us through an Age of Terror? The same qualities we look for in a husband: Someone who is strong and who will do his utmost to protect us. Well willingly put up with annoying habits or irritating opinions if we know, in the end, that this man would sacrifice his life for our children."
I have noticed this many times. When I am teaching women self defense, they often express an uncertainty about their ability to harm another person, even if that person endangers their life. I tell them to imagine that their assailant is going to rape and kill their children.
They become ferocious.
Once they consider that their children are harmed in numerous, drastic ways by being orphaned, they are much more willing to defend themselves.

Not just in abstraction for this FReepin' mommy, who escorted an intruder to the door with a 10-inch kitchen knife.
And he was lucky the dogs were in the backyard.
You should have seen this Freeping mommy with an Iron Maiden" cast on who realized intruders were attempting to rob the house...the fact that my ability to move fast never occurred to me - I would have torn them apart with my bare hands or scared them to death had I caught them.
The point here is John Kerry is not a protector America's safty and security; he proved that with his "war record" President Bush did/is proving he will protect America....MarkTwain is right on the mark.
I've noticed it too. Also they are now more worried about our soldiers than the homeless.
