How do you know that Stern is sexually obscene? Have you listened to him yourself? Don't worry about it....I too had to listen to him to find out exactly how obscene his show can be. Better to learn about Stern on my own than to have the government tell me.

As far as Stern calling Bush a Nazi....so have alot of people. What do you propose we do with them? Banish them or hang em' all on the nearest tree.

Let us just hope that it is NOT socialist morality, this could come back to bite us in the but BIG time. The next person could be Savage or Rush.

My husband and I just had this argument. I agree with you. He told me there was no way to control the Internet because it is worldwide and I said that because we can not control it, it is then allowed? By being allowed to come into our homes then it is accepted and when anything goes our children will never learn what is accepted or not. What it comes down to is that we will have to get rid of all forms of communication in order to keep the filth out of the house. I am like you, there has to be a way to keep this trash out of our homes. I know, I know there are those who say turn the channel, however, you can not always be with your children. They will be exposed. I for one did not have to grow up with all the filth on the airwaves and I was able to have a normal childhood. As a high school teacher, I can tell you that our society is changing with all the trash these kids are exposed to and it is scary looking at their future.

So you are arguing that Clear Channel's decision to (thank God) remove Howard Stern had nothing to with the FCC's decision increase the fines for obscenity ten-fold? If that is, in fact, your argument I have to point out it is contrary to the facts. Clear Channel's decision was in direct response to political pressure from the good guys.

Viacom's removal of Howard Stern (which will be within the next month) will be due to the same.

If you oppose the FCC action maybe YOU belong on DU.

I don't think it's that dramatic --- the government isn't shutting Stern down, he's just being a drama-queen --- nothing at all stops him from moving his show to cable or XFM --- his fans can subscribe --- most already probably do subscribe to cable. He can offer all the solicited porn he wishes to those who want it.

I am not worried, I live it everyday. All those who disagree who have high-schoolers have no idea what their children are doing. Children have three faces, one for their peers, one for their parents, and one for their teachers. By the way, there is no way I am a "DUer", my husband and I served proudly in Korea, my oldest daughter was in the Air Force, my oldest son was a Marine, and my youngest son is currently in the Sunni triangle as a medic in the Army. I am a proud American and pray for the great president we have.
