The essence of the situation is that the people of Venezuela have to choose between freedom and gulags. Freedom means civil war.

I have read he armed his Bolivarian Circles for his own militia besides the Army. I'm not optimistic.

I was not optimistic from the beginning. Anytime a leftist gets into power it is difficult to dislodge them. I feel sorry for those people.

Dems love left-wing dictators who hate America Wouldn't they want us to go in and prop up the "democratically" Elected Dictator like they did in Haiti?

They should have Allende'd his communist @ss when they had the chance instead of letting him flee the country. Now, thousands will have to die and there's no certainty that an insurrection will succeed.
Pray for Venezuela.

But U.S. officials should not shrink from challenging this bully.
They should bring his undemocratic actions before the Organization of American States for debate,
The US should bring Hugo Chavez before the OAS. The OAS is the new government for the United States folks. In 2005 when the FTAA is passed, it will become official.

There was an article posted earlier today saying that Chavez would confiscate guns belonging to the citizens so they wouldn't hurt themselves.
Last October a group of people from the OAS and the UN told Chavez he had to confiscate the guns.
Seems like someone is pulling some strings here.

There was an article posted earlier today saying that Chavez would confiscate guns belonging to the citizens so they wouldn't hurt themselves. If you're referring to the following article, then it said the right "to carry" weapons was suspended.

Isn't Hugo the guy who called our President an "asshole"?
Well then, as "eruptions" go?
...it couldn't happen to a better guy.

The OAS and the Carter Center should condemn Venezuela's electoral council for changing the rules after the signatures were collected.
Sounds like the Florida Supreme Court has jurisdiction there.
