It is called civil disobedience when you are a liberal democrat and a tyrant intolerant right wing homophobic fundamentalist Christian when are Republican. Careful you might hurts some of their feelings for being so mean spirited as to call them by what they are.

I agree. Here's part of the senario, the 9th circus will do its part by ruling that same gender "marriage" is legal. That will shore up Arizona and Nevada and give us Oregon. There is also a chance that it will give us Washington - W lost there by 6 points in '00 - big but not impossible to turn around in light of the effect that same sex marriage will have. It will even help us by making lurch have to work in California, spending time and money he won't have to spare. This will be like abortion. The more people focused on abortion, and got to know what it really is all about, the better it gets for us. The dark side pushed too hard with Partial Birth Abortion then and we are winning that one. Now it is doing it again with same gender "marriage". Thanks rats, we love it!

Anyone watch South Park last night?
It was the "Sexual Harrassment Panda" episode.
Stan's dad says "We live in a Democratic society. Democrats make laws telling us what we can or cannot say or do in the workplace".
Stan replies "Isn't that Fascism?"
His dad says "No".
Stan asks "Why not?"
His dad replies "Because we don't call it that."

Clearly, this has the potential to hurt John Kerry, especially in The South.

I thought the typical punishment for being a tyrant was being dragged through the streets naked on the way to the guillotine? I forget exactly.

Is it good for Bush? Can't say.
I can say that it is devastating for Kerry. But I am no longer sure that Kerry will place in the top two in November 2004.

Ever notice that these gay marriage stunts are taking place in the Bluest of the Blue Zones (SF, NY, Portland)? Now why are gays in Orlando, Atlanta, and Chapel Hill demanding marriage licenses? Could open Senate seats in the South have something to do with it?

John McLaughlin said Bush would risk losing millions of homosexual voters, and Eleanor Clift agreed with him. Tony Blankley and Pat Buchanan said that was nonsense.

Same here. Pat is a bit of a moron at times, but when it comes to cultural issues, he speak with logic and sense. I agree with Tony alot, it's why I like that show. LOL

I love PJ...
Anyway, I find it amazing that anyone could be dumb enough to think that the Gay issue is supported by the mainstream public. Watch Kerry dance on this one!
Back in 2002, I found it quite apparent that the Dems were a party splitting in half. One side ultra liberal, the other made of moderates. They had to make a choice on which side they would rebuild the party on. Amazing enough, they chose the hard core left. The moderates will join the GOP, just sit on their hands, or even decide to make their own party.
The Dem party died in 2002, but the autopsy will not be final until this next election. Oh the humanity!

You may be on to something. Of course, states that supported Bush are less likely to have county officials willing to break the law to suit their own agenda.
To: Clintonfatigued
The places I cited are enclaves that hate Bush as much as the lunatics in SF. However they are islands in a Sea of Red. In fact, I wish officials in Atlanta and Chapel Hill would start follwing SF's lead. Perhaps it would finally wake up the Yellow Dogs to the real faces of the RAT party.

With a 100% rating from the Human Rights Campaign since 1995, John Kerry is a powerful voice in the ongoing fight for civil rights for gay and lesbian Americans.
Priorities
Preventing Hate Crimes |
John Kerry is an original cosponsor of the Hate Crimes Prevention bill, which would extend federal jurisdiction over serious, violent hate crimes. These would include crimes motivated by sexual orientation. Hate crimes rose a disturbing 3.5% from 1999 to 2000.
Ending Discrimination |
One of John Kerrys first acts as a U.S. Senator, in 1985, was to introduce a bill prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. He supports passage of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, and has adopted a nondiscrimination policy for his Congressional offices based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
HIV/AIDS Funding |
John Kerry cosponsored the first Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources Emergency Act (CARE) - which represents the largest discretionary federal investment in treating individuals with HIV and AIDS. Kerry also sponsored the Vaccines for the New Millennium Act, aimed at boosting contributions to the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, a non-profit group working to promote development of an HIV vaccine in 2000. Kerry introduced the U.S. Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria Act, which would increase the U.S. governments funding of international HIV/AIDS efforts from approximately $1.7 billion in 2003 to $1.9 billion in 2004. This effort led to the unanimous passage in May 2003 the United States Leadership Against HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria Act of 2003. AIDS activists characterized Kerry as one of Congresss top leaders on HIV/AIDS policy.
Protecting Gay and Lesbian Families |
John Kerry believes that same-sex couples should be granted rights, including access to pensions, health insurance, family medical leave, bereavement leave, hospital visitation, survivor benefits, and other basic legal protections that all families and children need. He has supported legislation to provide domestic partners of federal employees the benefits available to spouses of federal employees. He was one of 14 Senators -- and the only one up for reelection in 1996 -- to oppose the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).
Lifting the Ban on Gays in the Military |
John Kerry opposed the Clinton Administrations Dont Ask Dont Tell Policy He was one of a few senators to testify before the Senate Armed Services Committee and call on the President to rescind the ban on gay and lesbian service members.
Support for Civil Unions |
John Kerry supports same-sex civil unions so that gay couples can benefit from the health benefits, inheritance rights, or Social Security survivor benefits guaranteed for heterosexual couples.
