Kerry is trying to argue to federalize civil unions instead of leaving them in the states. He has flip/flopped AGAIN, no more states rights.

Civil unions are not marriages and should not be the same but for the word "marriage". All marriage issues for homosexuals can be done with cohabitation agreements and other EASILY available docuemnts.

Kerry is frimly in the camp with the homosexuals and now its more open.

His position means that the federal government would grant the same 1,000-plus benefits enjoyed by married couples nationwide to same-sex couples -- provided that those couples lives in a state that allows for same-sex “marriage” or civil unions.
So what happens if they move to a state that doesn't allow same sex marriage? Do they they then lose all the benefits?

It seems this guy can flip-flop literally between appearances. The ultimate "cater to your audience" politician.
